H4 to F1 Change of Status

Here I am sharing about my H4 to F1 Change of status experience.

I joined the Univeristy in Jan 2012 on H4 Visa and applied for F1 Visa in the month of April 2012 which was the last month of my first semester at college.
I didn't go to any attorney to apply for my change of status.
My university's Office of International Students coordinator helped me filing. She gave a list of documents required for change of status from H4 to F1 in the month of Feb 2012.
I took for me a month to collect all the needed documents and fill the application online and take photographs.

So i went to meet her in the first week of April 2012 with printed copies of my application form. She verified my details in the application form and all my required documents. Then i have posted those documents and a cheque together on that day evening to USCIS through USPS.

I receive my approval in 4 weeks. But my F1 effective date was given as August 5, 2012 which is a month earlier than my FALL Semester. My Fall semester started on Sep 5, 2012.
So i had to study on H4 visa in summer semester also until my F1 became active from August 5,2012.

Best thing was i was selected for a GA position at my university in the last week of April. and i explained my situation in the interview. And my supervisor waited until August for my F1 Visa effective active start date.
I joined in my position from once my F1 Visa became active.

I hope this helps my fellow buddies who are planning to apply for F1 visa and wish you all goof luck :)

Baby Carrots are processed and chlorinated!!

Read about baby "CUT" carrots today on wikipedia. I thought they are just another variety of the cultivated carrots. But instead they are cut and processed in chlorine from carrots that showed any signs of being knobby, twisted, or broken.

They are not as healthy as their primitive cousins.... as their protective skin is peeled so they tend to rot faster too.

Thanks to my friend for en-lighting me.... thought this to be worth sharing with all my friends..... be healthy be safe :-)

LIVE CRICKET

Love Story

once upon a time there was an island, where all the feelings lived together. One unfortunate day there was a storm in the sea, and the island was about to get drowned. . . Every feeling was scared, but not love, love made a boat to escape, every feeling boarded in, only one feeling didnt, love got down to see who it was . . .

. . . It was EGO . . .

Love tried and tried but ego wasnt moving. . . Also the water was rising. . .

Everyone asked love to leave ego and come into the boat, but love was made to love. . It kept trying, but ego didnt move. .

All feelings escaped. . . the
Storm took over the island, and at last love dies with ego
On the island. . .

*LOVE DIES BECAUSE OF EGO*

My H4 visa experience

Are you planning to apply for H4 visa?
Here are my experience with my H4 visa which i thought may be helpful .

Me:
Hi,Good Morning.
VO:Hello.
VO:Please give me your passport.
Me:Given
VO:Who is your husband employer.
Me:Answered
VO:Do you have any of your husband pay slips.
ME:Yes and i handled.
VO:Your visa is sanctioned and will get ur passport soon.
ME:Thank you.

It was very easy.
And remember dont carry any bags, cellphones with you inside since they wont allow you to put inside also anywhere.
If any person accompanying you,you just hand over all your things to them and carry only required visa documents.
All the Best:)

Pencil & Eraser

Pencil: I'm sorry

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad.

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational.

Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way, they get hurt, and become smaller / older, and eventually pass on. Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

All my life, I've been the pencil. And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day. For I know that one day, all that I'm left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have.
